Dahlia Tuber Sale - Terms and Conditions

Please read these terms carefully before placing an order. By purchasing dahlia tubers from Franklin & Co. Flower Farm, you agree to the terms outlined below.

SALE DETAILS & INVENTORY

Our annual dahlia tuber sale is held online on a scheduled release date and time, which will be clearly announced on our website and through our email newsletter.

  • All dahlia varieties will appear as SOLD OUT on our website until the sale officially opens.
  • Inventory may be temporarily removed from the website prior to the sale to allow for final counts and uploads.
  • Items placed in your cart are not reserved until checkout is completed and payment is successfully processed.
  • Purchases are not guaranteed until paid for and a confirmation email has been received.

Due to high demand, some varieties may sell out very quickly. If an item sells out before checkout is completed, it will automatically be removed from your cart.

ORDER CHANGES & FINAL SALE

  • All dahlia tuber sales are final.
  • Once an order is placed, we cannot add, remove, substitute, or change items.
  • If you wish to purchase additional items, a separate order must be placed.

We reserve the right to limit quantities on select high-demand varieties (including one-per-household limits) to ensure fair access for as many customers as possible.

SHIPPING (CANADA ONLY)

  • Shipping is charged at a flat rate of $22 per order within Canada.
  • Shipping is available within Canada only. We do not ship internationally.
  • Tubers are shipped in spring once weather conditions are safe for transit.
  • We cannot accommodate early shipping requests.
  • Tracking information will be emailed once your order has shipped.

Combined Shipping

Franklin & Co. Flower Farm is a small, family-run flower farm, and we are happy to offer combined shipping.

Shipping fees are non-refundable.

LOCAL FARM PICKUP

We are happy to offer local farm pickup for customers who select this option at checkout.

  • Pickup dates, times, and location will be announced in April, for pickup in late April or early May.
  • Pickup reminders are sent via our email newsletter only; individual notifications will not be sent.

  • We are unable to provide early pickup at this time. If this changes, we will notify you via email.

If you are unsure whether you can attend pickup on the scheduled dates, please choose shipping at checkout.

PRODUCT INFORMATION

  • All tubers are sold as single divisions, not clumps.
  • Every tuber is:
    - grown on our farm for a minimum of one season
    - carefully inspected for health
    - guaranteed to be true to variety
    - guaranteed to have at least one viable eye

Tubers are shipped or picked up dormant and may not show visible eyes upon arrival. Eyes were identified during division and re-checked prior to shipping. Dahlias can take 6–8 weeks to break dormancy once planted under suitable conditions.

We do not presprout tubers prior to shipping or prior to farm pickup.

TUBER APPEARANCE

Dahlia tubers vary greatly in size and shape. Appearance has no impact on plant performance or flower quality.

  • Tubers may be small or large.
  • Larger tubers may be trimmed for ease of storage or shipping.
  • Bottom tips may be cut to check for internal rot.
  • Slight wrinkling can occur during storage.

These characteristics are normal and do not affect tuber viability.

SATISFACTION GUARANTEE

Please inspect your tubers upon arrival.

  • Any concerns must be emailed to us within 7 days of delivery.
  • Photos may be required for assessment.
  • Refunds, if issued, apply to the purchase price of the tuber only and do not include shipping.

Once tubers have been planted, we are not responsible for performance. Weather, soil conditions, pests, storage practices, and planting methods are beyond our control.

PERISHABLE PRODUCT DISCLAIMER

Dahlia tubers are a perishable agricultural product. While we store tubers under optimal conditions, some varieties do not store as well as others.

If a tuber is deemed unfit for shipping prior to dispatch, a full refund for that tuber will be issued. We will contact you directly.

DAHLIA VIRUS DISCLOSURE

Current research shows that dormant viruses may exist in asymptomatic dahlia plants.

We follow strict sanitation practices including disinfecting tools between plants, hand harvesting and dividing, regular plant monitoring, organic pest management, and avoiding imported tubers. However, no growing environment can be guaranteed virus-free.

By purchasing, you acknowledge and accept this risk. We do not issue refunds for suspected or confirmed virus symptoms.

GALL & MULTIPLE SPROUTS

Each tuber is carefully inspected prior to shipping.

  • Multiple sprouts are not gall and are often a sign of a vigorous tuber.
  • Broken sprouts may regrow from the same area.
  • We do not refund tubers based solely on appearance or sprouting behaviour.

REFUNDS & LIABILITY

Refunds are limited to the purchase price of the affected tuber only and refunds must be requested within 7 days of receiving the tuber.

We do not refund:

  • shipping costs
  • labour
  • crop loss
  • consequential or indirect damages

RESALE & BUSINESS PROTECTION

  • Reselling tubers purchased from Franklin & Co. Flower Farm voids all guarantees.
  • We reserve the right to refuse service or cancel orders at our discretion.
  • Orders placed fraudulently or in bad faith may be cancelled.

COMMUNICATION

All orders must be placed through our website.

We do not accept orders via phone, email, or social media.

FAQs

Do you ship to the USA?

Unfortunately we do not ship to anywhere outside of Canada.

What are the shipping costs?

We do not ship tubers before March 20th. You'll be notified when your order ships.

SHIPPING COSTS WILL NOT BE REFUNDED.

Shipping Costs:

  • 1 to 10 tubers $20 Flat Rate Shipping.
  • 11+ tubers $30 Flat Rate Shipping.

No refunds on shipping costs. 

We will combine up to 2 orders per customer for orders made up to March 15th, 2024.


**Please select shipping for your first order and then local pickup for subsequent orders and then add your order number to your second order. **

If you forget to add it to your notes, please email us with your order numbers to combine your orders for shipping. 

Shipping will start April 7th, 2025.

I'm making multiple orders, how do I combine them to only pay for shipping once?

We will combine up to 2 orders per customer for orders made up to March 15th, 2024. 

Instructions for Multiple Orders:

First Order:

  • Select shipping as your delivery option.

Subsequent Orders:

  • Choose local pickup as the delivery option.
  • In the notes section of your second (or later) orders, include the order number of your first order.

Shipping Costs:

  • 1 to 10 tubers: $20 flat rate shipping.
  • 11+ tubers: $30 flat rate shipping.

Important:
If you forget to add your first order number in the notes of your subsequent orders, don’t worry! Just email us with all your order numbers so we can combine them for shipping.

How does local pickup work?

If you place an order for pick up. You will receive an email when your order is ready with pickup details. You are required to pick up your order on the pick-up dates. If you are unable, please select shipping.

Pick-up dates are:

  • Friday, March 28, 2025
  • Saturday, March 29, 2025
  • Sunday, March 30, 2025
